SITTING BULL
Sitting Bull was a great Lakota Medicine Man
and Chief, much honored and respected by his people as well as by members of
other tribes. Just weeks before the battle of the Little Bighorn, Sitting Bull
had a vision in which he saw his people victorious over the white soldiers who
had invaded his people's lands. Of the white men's treatment of the Indians, he
said: " Now that we are poor, we are free. No white man controls our footsteps.
If we must die, we die defending our rights." This piece is
approximately 7 inches wide and 14 inches long excluding the feathers and base,
it is designed to be hung on a wall. |
